    A federal judge denied Lil Durk bail yesterday and ordered that he remain incarcerated until his trial. The rapper, currently behind bars, filed for bond and agreed to stringent conditions. However, the judge, U.S. Magistrate Judge Patricia Donahue, refused to approve it. She cited Durk’s violation of prison rules, stating that his conduct did not portray him as a law-abiding individual. The judge’s statement referenced a report that Lil Durk violated jail rules and used other inmates’ phone accounts.

    She said he used 13 other inmates’ phone accounts to make outside and three-way calls. The judge claimed that Durk’s actions at L.A.’s Metropolitan Detention Center demonstrated “a disrespect for the rules.” However, Durk’s attorney, Drew Findling, argued that he didn’t “see it as an issue”. He declared that other inmates were also guilty of the same. Findling also argued that Lil Durk, who wore a white prayer cap, was committed “to his Muslim faith” and deserved to be granted bail.

    However, Assistant U.S. Attorney Ian Yanniello pointed out that the defense team hasn’t offered new information. He argued that the trial is about Lil Durk’s conduct, not his song lyrics, which the prosecution has now axed. Yanniello insisted that the rapper “will not follow the rules,” judging by his jail calls.

    This touched on Findling’s claims that Lil Durk was willing to hire around-the-clock security as part of his bail requirements. The judge also agreed with Yanniello’s argument.     After Lil Durk’s bail hearing, Findling said the prosecution’s case boiled down to “one out of context text message. We feel that a 32 year-old man with no record should be entitled to time outside of the jail cell that he can spend with his family and colleagues,” he said.

    Mohammed Gangat also weighed in on Lil Durk’s case. He said Durk looked like “he was in good spirits” during his hearing. He claimed the rapper’s team had a great chance of winning at the trial beginning on October 14. “The prosecution’s case has taken two major hits,” he disclosed, describing those as a “silver lining.” The first was the prosecution removing references to the rapper celebrating the murder. The second was that prosecutors can no longer prove Durk had paid the bounty through a co-defendant.

    With an exclusive guest list featuring those from the entertainment, sports, arts, technology fields, and more, the Met Gala is a must-attend for many. This year’s edition of the annual high-fashion fundraising gala made history in more than one way. Even before the event began on Monday night, museum officials announced they had raised a record-breaking $31 million. This makes Met Gala 2025 the highest-grossing edition of the fashion fundraiser.

    The theme, Superfine: Tailoring Black Style, with the dress code Tailored for You, was another switch from the usual. It was a nod to black designers and highlighted the evolution of black men’s fashion. It was inspired by Monica L. Miller’s book Slaves to Fashion: Black Dandyism and the Styling of Black Diasporic Identity.

    Ahead of the event, Anna Wintour said on Good Morning America, “What I’m hoping that this exhibition will do is really put a light on the talent of all these arbiters of style and look at their traditions and their history and their culture. But most importantly to me, in a way, is when I look at the show I see freedom. I see liberation.” She added, “I see hope. I see respect. And I see joy.”

    Anna Wintour Curates The Event Carefully Each Year

    The Met Gala has raised outstanding sums of money in previous years, too. 2024’s edition raised a staggering $26 million for the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s costume institute. As with other editions, Anna Wintour has always been on top of things at the Met Gala. She also had help from this year’s co-chairs: Colman Domingo, Lewis Hamilton, A$AP Rocky, and Pharrell Williams. LeBron James joined as the honorary chair.

    The Vogue Editor-in-Chief is renowned for carefully attending to details of the event. The planning for each edition begins the day after the previous one. About 100 people work on Met Gala planning year-round, including 10 full-time Vogue employees. The late Andre Leon Tally, Vogue contributing editor, also said of Wintour, per E! News:
    “Anna is meticulously vetting every single thing, from the napkins to the forks to the lighting. The detail of the flowers, the detail of the ushers, how they’re dressed, everything has been vetted for months and weeks and months and weeks.”

    Wintour is also conscious about keeping the event shrouded in secrecy. “It’s very secretive. [Wintour] doesn’t want anyone to know what she’s planning or what she’s up to until the minute they walk down that red carpet and through the door,” Vogue contributing editor Plum Sykes told The New York Post.

    With a guest list of 450 people, some missing and some right on point with their styles, Met Gala was a success this year.

The former CNN contributor was on the Piers Morgan Uncensored TV show on Tuesday when he erupted in exasperation. The woman, a white panelist identified as Lilly Gaddis, had admitted to saying the N-word “quite frequently.”

    She added, “I want to live in a country where people are allowed to say what they want unashamedly.” Morgan, probably feeling mischievous, then encouraged her to say the forbidden word on live TV. “Well go on then, say it,” he nudged her. “Go on. Go on. Say the N-word. Go on.”

    After Morgan Piers’ dare, Marc Lamont snapped at him, accusing him of inciting “racial harm” at his expense to boost the show’s ratings.

    “No, no, no, no! I don’t want you to invite this woman to say a racially-harmful term in front of me, because I’m the only [censored by Piers Morgan Uncensored] on here, so if she says it, I’m the victim of it,” Lamont responded sharply. “So please don’t invite her for ratings to call me the N-word because that’s basically what it’s going to be.”

    Lamont’s anger and warning didn’t stop him from firing a slur directed at fellow panelist Myron Gaines, though.

    He called him an “Uncle Tom,” saying, “There’s a bunch of white people up here and one Uncle Tom on the left here, and to ask her to say the N-word while I’m here is ridiculous. You would not sit here with a Jewish person and say, ‘Please use a Jewish slur in front of this Jew.’ It’s ridiculous.” Lamont continued, “I understand you don’t have any bad intent, Piers. I understand what you’re trying to do. But we already know she’s a racist and I don’t want to invite a racial harm to me to prove it.”

    Thankfully, Piers Morgan saw reason and agreed with Marc Lamont’s sentiments. “I hear you and I accept that and we’ll leave it there. Thank you all very much,” he responded.

    Meanwhile, fans also had much to say about the duo’s interaction on Onsite’s Instagram page. They agreed with Lamont that saying the N-word would have been disrespectful, and Morgan was wrong to urge the woman. However, many fans also pointed out that Morgan wasn’t encouraging the woman’s racism. Rather, he meant for her to realize the consequences of her words.

    A fan said, “He’s not wrong! Stop inviting disrespect to that table while we’re sitting there.” A second person replied, “That wasn’t the point . Pierce proved his point. You wanna say it so bad go ahead.” Another person remarked, “He snapped he said nothing but facts !!! But when he said Uncle Tom I lost it.” Someone else said, “I mean Piers pulled her card if we being real, he like shit you wanna say it so bad,say it then. She got really quite when he made that offer.”

Almost three dozen New Yorkers were in court on Monday to determine their eligibility to become jurors in Diddy’s sex trafficking trial.

    About 90 minutes into the selection process, Diddy requested a brief break. Before then, the defense team had requested a quick bathroom break, but the judge, Arun Subramanian, declined to oblige them. He suggested they wait and continue questioning jurors.

    “I’m a machine,” Subramanian said. However, Diddy, dressed in a white collared shirt and blue sweater and sporting gray hair and a beard, responded, “I’m sorry, your honor. I’m a little nervous today.” The judge then granted him a two-minute break.

    Diddy’s sex trafficking trial is expected to last eight to ten weeks and will run from Mondays through Fridays. Last week, Judge Subramanian said he hoped to seat a jury of 12 people and six alternates for the trial.
