In a recent episode of her podcast, comedian and actress B. Simone became vulnerable with her audience. She shared her struggles with being approached by men and gave a simple reason why she thinks that is so. B. Simone claimed that her habit of being dressed down when going out is responsible for men’s evasion. However, her guest shattered this perception and provided other reasons why this could be so. The comedian’s revelation comes shortly after she disclosed that she wants to be married.

B. Simone had a revelation to share with fans on the Let’s Try This Again podcast last week. During the interview published on March 18, she shared that men typically don’t make a move on her in public. The actress also shared her thoughts on why this could be, although her guest later stirred her in another direction. B. Simone told her guest, comedian, and writer Tyler Chronicles that it is probably because she is always “dressed down.”
In a clip of the interview which Onsite obtained, she said, “I feel like I mentioned this in the previous episode. I’m like, men don’t talk to me in public, and it’s probably because I’m always dressed down. I’m in a hoodie, I’m in sweats, my hair is never done, it’s probably slicked back. I just look like I’m taken.” The Girls Cruse actress added, “I look like I’m going, I look like I’m running errands, I look like I’m going to pick up dinner. I don’t ever look like, ‘Come talk to me.’”
Tyler Chronicles Reveals Why Men Don’t Approach B. Simone
Meanwhile, Tyler Chronicles shared a different opinion. He told B. Simone that men don’t approach her not because she is dressed down but probably because of her attitude. He opined that men often don’t care about what a woman they are interested in is wearing. Chronicles then asked Simone if she usually exuded ‘Come talk to me’ energy.
“Cuz men can feel that more than we can see it,” he told his host, adding, “A man will talk to a woman with a mattress over her back. If a man cares about your clothes and like what you’re wearing, and he’s like, ‘oh man I can’t talk to her cuz she had on a hoodie,’ then he probably likes men. I think it’s more like a man won’t approach you on how you’re looking.”
The writer then shared an experience to buttress his point. He told B. Simone he once met a woman he was interested in at the gym who was dressed down. Chronicles said that as he approached the woman, she made a face that showed disgust. Consequently, he changed his mind and walked past her since her face had already told him she wasn’t interested.
B. Simone Thinks Dressing Up Will Make Her Feel Better
After Chronicles shared his experience, B. Simone steered the conversation back to her always being dressed down. She agreed she likely doesn’t have a ‘come talk to me’ face. She also noted that going out dressed down probably impacted her confidence, which may be pushing men away.
The entrepreneur said, “In my mind, I probably feel bummy, and I feel like I don’t look my best, so I probably am exuding ‘don’t talk to me’ because I’m not confident.”
B. Simone added that she would stop going out while being dressed down and look more presentable. “When you look better, you feel better, period,” she concluded. Meanwhile, the comedian’s recent disclosure follows her revelation in a recent podcast where she broke down. She admitted to her guest, Dr. Thema Bryant, that she wanted a husband.
B. Simone’s perception that men do not approach her publicly because she is always dressed down raises questions about whether this is true.
