Fake Amazon Delivery Drivers Break Into Man’s Home and Nearly Kill Him Using Sledgehammer

Authorities are on the lookout for two men who posed as Amazon delivery drivers and brutally attacked a Savannah resident, nearly resulting in his death, as reported by WSBTV. The police report indicates that the pair, dressed as Amazon employees, approached a house on Saturday morning carrying a package.

When they knocked on the door, 66-year-old #GeorgeDickHardison answered. That is when the men forcibly entered the home. The report states they demanded cash before assaulting Hardison with a sledgehammer. The attackers fled with only $80. Surveillance footage captured them leaving the residence with the same package they had brought. In the video, Hardison can be heard calling for help.

Hardison was hospitalized and needed 14 stitches in his head due to the attack. Law enforcement officials stated that once the suspects are identified and apprehended, they will face charges of aggravated assault, aggravated battery, and home invasion. While he recovers, Hardison’s colleagues at O’Connell’s Pub in Savannah have initiated a GoFundMe campaign that has already raised almost $8,500. • 15-Year-Old Volleyball Player Dies After Ambulance Never Showed Up When She Collapsed At Practice

15-Year-Old Volleyball Player Dies After Ambulance Never Showed Up When She Collapsed At Practice

Sadly, 15-year-old Amanda Sylvester of Georgia suffered from cardiac arrest after an ambulance never showed up, officials say, according to the New York Post. The teen collapsed while at volleyball practice and although medical professionals arrived to examine Sylvester after she fell, the ambulance that was originally called failed to arrive.

A spokesman for Fulton County, Bill Crane, told 11Alive,

“Within about eight minutes, College Park Fire Rescue EMTS were on site..The young lady, by then, was conscious, evaluated, and assessed. Her vitals were all normal; she was making eye contact, her pupils weren’t dilated, and she was conversant.”

The teen’s mother later took her to Hughes Spalding Children’s Hospital when the ambulance failed to show up for 40 mins. At the hospital, she sadly experienced cardiac failure and was revived just once before she was declared dead.

Grady Memorial Hospital responded, noting that the call wasn’t categorized as a high priority.

“A College Park Fire unit responded to the scene and was equipped to provide medical care and transport if necessary. Following an update on the patient’s condition, the call was reclassified, and a Grady EMS unit was promptly dispatched,”

    said the ambulance service.

    The statement continued,

“However, as our unit was en route, College Park Fire determined that additional EMS support was no longer needed due to the patient being transported to the hospital via personal vehicle.”

  • Gwinnett County Inmates Were Using Hot Water To Burn Each Other, Leading To Its Permanent Removal

Gwinnett County Inmates Were Using Hot Water To Burn Each Other, Leading To Its Permanent Removal

The Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Office announced that they had to take away inmates’ access to hot water machines in the jail, per WSBTV

These machines heated water to over 220 degrees and were intended for making coffee and other items from the commissary. However, deputies reported at least four cases this year where inmates used the hot water to burn each other, along with two incidents involving jail staff.

All six incidents caused serious injuries and led to more charges for those involved. The sheriff’s office mentioned they attempted to lower the water temperature but ultimately decided to remove the machines entirely.

“These hot water units are an amenity we had provided for years but, unfortunately, we had to take these drastic steps to prioritize safety and security,”

Col. Ben Haynes wrote in a statement.

Inmates still have access to hot and cold water for their hygiene. The jail is kept at a temperature of 72 degrees all year to help prevent the spread of illness, reports note.

    Williams told the dispatcher.

    “Can you please help me?”

“Like. Can you please tell me, like, I don’t want to get locked up because this is not my fault? I had just came home from work.”

According to autopsy reports obtained by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, the boys’ heads were caught in a flipped-over oven.

“These thermal changes appear to be entirely from dry heat and changes from prolonged exposure to heat,”

the medical examiner reportedly wrote in both autopsies.

“It would require an extensive amount of time to get to this degree.”

Police informed the TV station that the oldest boy, who survived, saw his mother kill his two younger brothers.
