Kevin Durant was not impressed by Kendrick Lamar’s Super Bowl Halftime Show on Sunday and expressed it in not so many words. The basketball player known for his love and loyalty to Drake called Lamar’s performance uninspiring. Although many people share his opinion, Durant’s affinity for all things Drake may have also colored his view, considering the ongoing, bitter feud between Kendrick Lamar and Drake. Kevin Durant Calls Super Bowl Halftime Show ‘Boring’
Kevin Durant was out on Monday night when reporters asked for his thoughts on this year’s Super Bowl Halftime Show. Durant responded that the Super Bowl itself and the Halftime Show were underwhelming in all regards. He told The Arizona Republic that the Super Bowl Halftime Show, where Kendrick Lamar performed his hit diss track, Not Like Us, “meant nothing” to him. “I didn’t really pay attention to it to be honest,” he said. He also revealed that he tuned out of the game by halftime.
“It was a pretty boring day as far as a Super Bowl. Game got out of hand, Super Bowl Halftime show- I didn’t pay attention to it.”
Kevin Durant is not alone in his opinion. The 2025 Super Bowl lacked its usual energy and competition despite its PR as the “holy grail” of North American athletics events. The game between the Philadelphia Eagles and the Kansas City Chiefs lost its flair in the first half when the Eagles led 24-0, culminating in their 40-22 win in the second half.
Kevin Durant Is A Huge Drake Fan
Meanwhile, Kevin Durant’s view of Kendrick Lamar’s Apple Music Super Bowl Halftime Show may be due to more than a disappointing game or “boring” performance. Fans believe that his comments stemmed from his friendship with Drake. Durant supported the rapper through his feud with Lamar and a lawsuit against Universal Music Group and Spotify. When Drake accused the two entities of artificially inflating the Pulitzer Prize winner’s track, Not Like Us, Durant showed his support On Instagram.
He posted a screenshot of a line in the rapper’s 30 for 30 Freestyle on his Stories, where he rapped, “When the higher-ups have come together as a collective/With conspiracies to end my run and send me a message/40, did you get the message?” Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards also confirmed Durant’s love for Drake’s music when he revealed that he only listened to Drake during the Paris Summer Olympics. Meanwhile, the love is mutual as Drake has a tattoo of Kevin Durant’s number on his arm.
Kendrick Lamar’s Controversial Super Bowl Halftime Show
Kendrick Lamar’s performance at the Super Bowl Halftime Show has divided many. Shortly after his performance, many went online to express their disappointment over an underwhelming show. Some called it one of the “worst” halftime shows in history. However, others believe that the rapper didn’t perform to entertain but sent a message, which may have been lost on those who called the show boring. Meanwhile, some believe that Lamar could have left his beef with Drake out of the show.
They opined that dissing the latter during the Halftime Show watered his message. Kendrick Lamar took a bold step by performing Not Like Us and naming Drake right into the cameras. He also delivered two lines that refer to Drake as a pedophile without him saying the word. “Say Drake, I hear you like them young” and “trying to strike a chord and it’s probably a minor,” he said. Lamar also brought Drake’s former love interest, Serena Williams, out on stage to crip walk when he performed the song.
Kevin Durant’s opinion on Kendrick Lamar’s performance at the Super Bowl Halftime Show is valid. Nevertheless, Lamar’s performance continues gaining traction online over the Super Bowl itself, with positive and negative reactions.

Desiree Perez, CEO of Roc Nation, is explaining the decision behind selecting Kendrick Lamar as the headliner for the Super Bowl Halftime show. She dismissed suggestions that the choice was intended to undermine Lil Wayne, emphasizing that it was more about reflecting
“the pulse of the times.”
In a recent interview with NOLA.com, she elaborated on the reasons for choosing Lamar, despite his lack of ties to New Orleans. She told the outlet,
“New Orleans is so rich in culture. We have to take into consideration (that) whoever is going to perform can speak to music culture, regardless of age. It has to nod to real music, regardless of the genre. And Kendrick does that. Kendrick’s richness and culture is really a nod to New Orleans.”
Perez noted that Lil Wayne was indeed considered for the role. She even expressed compassion for the legendary New Orleans rapper when she found out he was disheartened by not being selected.
“Aww…I actually didn’t know he had said that. We love that everybody wants to be on the stage, that we’ve completely changed the conversation to fighting for it versus boycotting. We’ve come a long way.”
Wayne also revealed in a December interview that he spoke to Kendrick Lamar and resolved any issues that existed between them.
“I’ve spoken to him and I wished him all the best and told him he better kill it. He gotta kill it,”
he said.
According to Perez, the Super Bowl made a lot of changes since Roc Nation joined forces with the NFL. She pointed out that a shift happened after the 2019 Super Bowl in Atlanta.
“The goal was to get the halftime show to be something that artists are excited to perform at,”
she said.
“How do we make this about the music and the moment, and not about everything else that’s going on around it.”

Lil Baby has finally responded to being name-dropped in Kendrick Lamar’s diss track Not Like Us. The song, Lamar’s fourth diss track against Drake, was released on May 4, 2024. However, Lil Baby didn’t say anything about it being mentioned in it until his recent interview with Charlagmane Tha God in his Out of Context series released on December 19, 2024. In reacting to the track, Lil Baby wondered why Kendrick Lamar tried to include him in his beef with Drake.
Lil Baby Reacts to Kendrick Lamar’s Diss Track
Lil Baby was with Charlagmane Tha God when he opened up on being name-dropped in Kendrick Lamar’s song. When asked what his reaction was upon hearing his name in Not Like Us, the rapper said he preferred to be left out of such situations. Charlamagne read the relevant lyrics to Lil Baby in which Lamar rapped, “You run to Atlanta when you need a check balance/ Let me break it down for you, this the real n—a challenge/ You called Future when you didn’t see the club/ Lil Baby helped you get your lingo up.” In response, Lil Baby said:
“I ain’t really into that side of hip-hop.”
He admitted that he and Drake have “a great relationship.” However, he added that it was “just like with any situation: If you and him was arguing, why the hell you gonna say [my name]?” the rapper asked. Lil Baby also revealed that he treats rap like work.
“I don’t want nothing to do with it,” he said. “Not saying whatever they got going on ain’t real, but I feel like, to me, rappin’ and sh– be my work. I don’t want that type of sh– at work.”
Lil Baby and Gunna’s Estranged Relationship
Meanwhile, fans have speculated that Lil Baby dissed another rapper on his 350 track, just as Kendrick Lamar did. However, he denied the rumors. Lil Baby and Gunna’s relationship turned sour after rumors went around that the latter snitched on Young Thug. Lil Baby blamed the internet for the speculations, saying:
“It’s just the internet, what they gon’ create. I talked about rats in every song I had since I started rapping. They just create a narrative. I don’t even been talking about a n*gga. It’s whoever a rat.”
In the meantime, the Drip Harder rap star ruled out the possibility of working with Gunna again despite both recording several hits together. “We don’t got no relationship,” Lil Baby told Charlagmane about his connection with Gunna. He also asserted he won’t work with his former collaborator even if their mentor, Young Thug, asks. “I don’t see that happening,” he said. Meanwhile, his fourth studio album, WHAM (Who Hard as Me), is scheduled for release on January 3, 2025.
Lil Baby has a point about not wanting to be involved in Kendrick Lamar and Drake’s rap feud if he doesn’t want to be. However, his words would only stand if his reference to rats wasn’t made to Gunna. Otherwise, it would be hypocritical if he dissed others without wanting to be dissed in return.

Lil Wayne is willing to put the past behind and support Kendrick Lamar. The rapper revealed his intentions to embrace the Super Bowl snub and stay friends with Lamar instead. Lil Wayne hoped to perform at the 2025 Super Bowl. Though that didn’t happen, he disclosed that he spoke with Kendrick Lamar and asked him to give his best performance.
Lil Wayne Speaks With Kendrick Lamar About Super Bowl
Rapper Lil Wayne has contacted Kendrick Lamar despite being snubbed for the upcoming Super Bowl Halftime show. The artist revealed this during a December 19 interview with Skip Bayless on his Skip Bayless Show. Wayne shared that although he was still hurt at being passed over for performing at his native New Orleans, he wished Lamar the best. He also disclosed that he talked to Kendrick Lamar and asked him to “kill” his Super Bowl performance.
“I’ve spoken to him, and I wish him all the best,” Wayne said.
“I told him he better kill it,” he shared, while Bayless maintained he was “baffled and angry” that Wayne would not perform on his hometown’s biggest stage. However, his guest admitted that he doesn’t know why he was ignored but believes Lamar is a “perfect” choice. Meanwhile, when Bayless read the lyrics of Lamar’s wacced out murals. Lamar rapped, “I think my hard work let Lil Wayne down.“ However, Lil Wayne said he had never heard the lyrics and opined that Lamar cared and that he “better kill it.”
Lil Wayne Wants to Be Better
Lil Wayne also expressed how being snubbed in favor of Kendrick Lamar for the 2025 Super Bowl pushed him to improve. He confessed that he self-evaluated after he heard the news. Hence, he told himself, “You ain’t there, you gotta get there.” The Lollipop rapper shared his feelings with his management team and trustworthy people. He said:
“I want to get to the point where I’m undeniable. I want them to walk in there and have 10 other choices and whoever’s in charge says, ‘no, you have to go with him!’”
Meanwhile, Bayless spoke about how it didn’t “make sense” to him that the game would be held at the Caesars Superdome in the Big Easy, and the Mirror rapper was not selected.
“It just makes no sense to me. I don’t get it… I don’t know,” Bayless said.
However, Wayne was realistic about how he couldn’t control it. He was also honest about still feeling lost about the ordeal. When Bayless asked him if he felt better than when he first heard the news, Wayne said he was not.
Lil Wayne Cried About the Super Bowl Snub
Lil Wayne’s admission is coming a few months after he broke down publicly for not being selected to headline the Super Bowl. On September 13, he posted a video on Instagram. In the clip, he said that hearing Kendrick Lamar would headline the Super Bowl in his hometown instead “broke” him.
“First of all, I want to say forgive me for the delay. I had to get strength enough to do this without breaking,” he said somberly. “That hurt. It hurt a lot. You know what I’m talking about. It hurt a whole lot.”
The iconic rapper blamed himself for keeping his hopes up. He added that he thought nothing would beat performing at the biggest spot in his city. He also thanked his fans, friends, and all who had his back.
“Thanks to all of my peers, my friends, my family, my homies on the sports television and everybody repping me. I really appreciate that, I really do. I feel like I let all of y’all all of y’all down by not getting that opportunity, but I’m working on me and I’m working. So thank you,” he said.
Lil Wayne speaking with and congratulating Kendrick Lamar on getting to headline the Super Bowl is admirable and courageous. Although a collaboration is impossible because of logistics, he will hopefully get a chance to shine on the big stage as he hoped.

The Harlem native’s response quickly caused a stir online as fans asked fore more details of the event between her and Drake. However, in true Banks fashion, the singer has kept mum. Meanwhile, some were skeptical about Banks’ claims and asked for proof.
Azealia Banks’ revelation followed her commentary on the legal battle between Drake, Universal Music Group (UMG), Spotify, and Kendrick Lamar. The music star sided with Drake and predicted the outcome of his legal filings.
“Oh drake DEFINITELY has the gun. He’s about to crook umg and spotify on some minor legal formalities and actually be the first rapper in history to stage a heist of such epic proportions,” she wrote on X. “It’s really such a lethal chess move when you really examine it,” she continued.
“He’s going to subpoena literally every platforms records, they will not be able to cook the books- and *discover* (expose) all the shady backend parts of music streaming no one really understands…Then they will all have to prove that drake is a pedophile which would make UMG and spotify look retarded if they even did, kendrick is not going to be able to perform they not like us, and jayz is going to have officially been bodied by a singing n-gga.”
Drake’s Battle With Kendrick Lamar and UMG
Drake recently accused UMG and Spotify of using streaming bots and Payola to inflate the streaming and radio numbers of Lamar’s diss song Not Like Us amid their ongoing feud. He alleged that the two organizations collaborated to recommend the diss song to many. He also accused UMG of doing the same with other streaming platforms, including recommending Not Like Us to those who requested other songs.
Meanwhile, Azealia Banks frequently supported Drake against Lamar in their feud and declared the latter the winner. She notably knocked Lamar for his height, writing online,
“Kendrick is still 4’9″ and wears the same jean size as me.”
However, she has also knocked Drake online. She attacked the Canadian-born rapper after his altercation with Joe Budden, mocking him for his nose job and liposuction.
Drake is yet to respond to claims of his and Azealia Banks’ purported relationships. The 212 rapper has also not said anything about it since she firstdropped the bombshell. However, her commentary about the ongoing legal battle between Drake, UMG, Spotify, and Lamar is worth following.

Meek Mill has waded into Andrew Schulz’s controversial statements about Kendrick Lamar. The rapper slammed Schulz for threatening to assault his fellow rapper sexually. He also reacted to the comedian’s offensive jokes about him. However, many did not take Mill seriously because of his past association with disgraced music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs.
Meek Mill Slams Comedian Andrew Schulz
Meek Mill took his X account on Friday, Dec. 6, 2024, to address Andrew Schulz’s offensive jokes about Kendrick Lamar.
White man saying they’ll rape black men openly is extreme … and then say it’s just a joke .., black manhood not a joke! I seen the same guys saying I was gay on his stand up! My white friends like it’s a joke! We don’t joke like that in the black community at all!!
“White man saying they’ll rape black men openly is extreme … and then say it’s just a joke .., black manhood not a joke!” he wrote.
Mill also referred to allegations about him being intimate with Diddy.
“I seen the same guys saying I was gay on his stand up! My white friends like it’s a joke! We don’t joke like that in the black community at all!!” the rapper opined.
Reactions to Meek Mill’s Statements
Social media users were divided in their reactions to Meek Mill slamming Andrew Schulz. Some applauded the All Eyes on You singer for weighing in and joined him in the backlash against Schulz. However, others simply laughed at the rapper and suggested that his tweet was a way of doing damage control due to his association with Diddy.
“Nice try Diddy,” a post with over two thousand likes read.
“Meek Mill doesn’t joke like that. He does it for real. Allegedly.” A second user posted.
However, other people agreed with Mill.
Since we are all thinking it,I’m just gonna go ahead and say it: let’s Cancel Andrew Schulz
“Unfortunately bc it Meek saying it y’all gonna miss the what he’s saying… Andrew needs a quick lil Will Smith face check since he wanna keep us on his tongue.”
A second user agreed, saying,
“The fact dude is so comfortable saying all this and NOBODY is checking him is ridiculous.”
Andrew Schulz’ Comments About Meek Mill
The comedian also harassed Meek Mill for his connection to Diddy. Mill addressed the allegations in his tweet, but Schulz thought it was hypocritical of him to condemn them. Shortly after Mill posted his tweet blasting the comedian about his offensive Lamar joke, Schulz shared a screenshot of a post where Mill laughed at jokes about him being gay.
“You seemed to like it,” Schulz pointed out with a shrug emoji.
He also joked about the Going Bad rapper’s sexuality in a stand-up show early this year when he said he doesn’t think Mill is gay, he is only “incredibly bad at proving he’s straight.”
Andrew Schulz’ Comments About Kendrick Lamar
Andrew Schulz and Kendrick Lamar’s back-and-forth began when Schulz accused the rapper of hypocrisy in an episode of his podcast Flagrant. He reacted to Lamar’s Wacced Out Murals, which he claimed was addressed to him. Schulz alleged that the rapper only supported black women when it suited him, citing Lamar’s association with R. Kelly. He then promised to overpower the Pulitzer Prize winner and sexually molest him.
“I would make love to him and there’s nothing he could do about it,” he said. “Just Kendrick Lamar, I would make love to him. And the only thing that he could do is decide if it’s consensual or not. … He’s talking a lot of shit, but if it came down to it I could put him on my lap, I could feed him a bottle… Man, I might as well f*ck you. There’s nothing he can physically do to stop that. I’d put his legs in the air and choose a position.”
Many people, including actor O’Shea Jackson Jr., have joined Meek Mill in condemning Andrew Schulz’s statement. However, the comedian has yet to apologize or retract his words. Only time will tell if he eventually does.

Chloe Bailey is spilling the tea on a crush she once had on rapper Kendrick Lamar. The singer revealed this on Nov. 27, 2024, while gushing over Lamar’s new album GNX. She clarified that it was long ago and that she had always loved his music. However, her revelation raised controversy online as many accused her of shooting her shot.
Chloe Bailey Had a Crush on Kendrick Lamar
Chloe Bailey revealed she has always loved Lamar’s songs. The gorgeous beauty revealed this while talking to fans about the rapper’s newly released album GNX on Instagram Live. She confessed she was always a “diehard fan” of the Pulitzer prize winner while gushing about his album’s greatness.
“Who has listened to Kendrick’s album?” Bailey asked. “I have had it on repeat for the past four/five days since it’s been out. And listen, I could not just hop on the Kendrick train now.”
Bailey added that she started following Lamar’s music from Section.80 and the mixtape with Alien Girl on it.
“So I haven’t just hopped on the bandwagon now… But I’ve been a hardcore Kendrick fan – when he was K. Dot!” she disclosed.
She also revealed she once thought she and Lamar would be a couple.
“I don’t know if you all know this – about eight years ago, I had a whole Kendrick phase […] and I was convinced I was going to be with him,” Bailey disclosed.
Fans Knock Chloe Bailey for Kendrick Lamar Crush
While Chloe Bailey innocently disclosed her crush on Kendrick Lamar, some fans didn’t consider it appropriate. Many agreed with her on the rapper’s talent and thought her crush was cute. However, some fans attacked the songwriter shortly after her Instagram Live, accusing her of shooting her shot at an engaged man. Lamar has been in a long-term relationship with Whitney Alford, with whom he shares two children: a daughter named Uzi and a son, Enoch.
However, the Grown-ish actress defended herself against the claims and clarified that she didn’t shoot her shot at Lamar. During her livestream, Bailey said her crush on Lamar occurred years ago.
“I was talking about years and years ago. I was just sharing how I was a diehard Kendrick fan, like from day one,” she said. “Everybody just doesn’t like happiness, everybody has to take everything so seriously. I would never… I think it’s funny now how people will take things out of context,” Bailey said.
Deluxe GNX Album in The Works
Meanwhile, Bailey and the rest of Lamar’s fans will soon be treated to more goodies from the Grammy Awards winner. Artist Lefty Gunplay recently revealed that Lamar has a deluxe version of GNX coming out soon.
“I know he’s got a deluxe version coming out. He’s very secretive,” Gunplay disclosed.
Since its release, Kendrick Lamar’s GNX has received positive reviews from many, including Chloe Bailey. Some also expect it to top the Hot Billboard 200 charts. Regardless, Lamar looks set to keep giving fans enjoyable hits.

2024 has been a year of surprising revelations and shocking headlines. From the police searching and finding 1000 bottles of baby oil in Sean “Diddy” Combs’s house to his arrest and detention, Kat William’s revelations, and Donald Trump’s victory at the polls, there has been no shortage of wow-inducing moments. We have curated the biggest news involving celebrities and entertainers in 2024.
1. Diddy’s Arrest and Downfall
On September 16, federal authorities made one of the biggest arrests of 2024. This came after they picked up Sean “Diddy” Combs in a Manhattan hotel lobby. Authorities arrested Diddy and charged him with racketeering, sex trafficking, and transportation to engage in prostitution. The music mogul’s arrest in September was a consequence of the raid on his LA and Miami homes in March. Department of Homeland Security had raided Diddy’s homes following mounting allegations of abuse and sexual assault against the rapper.
During the raid, investigators found evidence of “freak-offs” contained in tapes, narcotics like ketamine and ecstasy, and 1000 bottles of baby oil. They also seized the rapper’s phones and guns. Diddy’s legal troubles began after his ex-girlfriend, Cassie Ventura, accused him of sexual and physical abuse. Diddy apologized online after CNN released footage of him brutally assaulting Ventura at the InterContinental Hotel. However, he remains in custody and will go on trial on May 5, 2025.
2. Drake and Kendrick Lamar’s Beef
The beef between Drake and Kendrick Lamar is one of 2024’s biggest pop-culture events. Their once-friendly relationship turned sour once Lamar found his feet in the industry. “I got love for you all, but I’m trying to murder you,” he said to Drake, J Cole, Meek Mill, Mac Miller, Pusha T, and others while featuring on Big Sean’s Control. Drake responded, telling Billboard it was an ambitious thought and Lamar couldn’t “murder him” on any platform. The two have been in a rap feud ever since.
Drake and Kendrick Lamar’s beef escalated in 2024. It began with Lamar’s verse on Like That, responding to J. Cole’s suggestion that he, Lamar, and Drake were the big three rap stars. Lamar’s expletive-laden and explosive reply came in his feature appearance on Metro Boomin’ and Future’s Like That. Lamar said there was no “big three – it’s just big me.” Drake responded via a diss track, and the fight became personal, with him and Lamar going against each other via several diss tracks. Lamar also accused Drake of pedophilia and secretly fathering a child. Meanwhile, Drake accused Lamar of physical abuse against his family.
3. Katt Williams and Shannon Sharpe’s Interview
Katt Williams and Shannon Sharpe’s interview holds the official title for the most views for an interview on YouTube. The controversial interview shook the internet, as it was discussed on several mainstream and social media channels and dominated headlines for weeks. During the interview, Williams slammed and revealed the “truth” about many celebrities, including Diddy, Steve Harvey, Ludacris, Tyler Perry, Tiffany Haddish, and Kevin Hart. The interview gained more recognition after Diddy’s collapse shortly after.
4. Usher’s Super Bowl Performance
Usher’s Superbowl halftime performance was an opportunity to make a statement and pay tribute to those who came before him. “I’m coming through the front door with this one,” he said on Good Morning America. Surprisingly, the R&B star managed to fit 30 years of his career into a 13-minute presentation that sent the audience into an uproar and will not be forgotten anytime soon. Usher’s lineup comprised over a dozen songs featuring ballads and club anthems, and eventually, it shifted into party mode.
The musician opened the night with Alicia Keys on If I Ain’t Got You, setting everywhere into a palpable calm. He then transitioned into other songs like Caught Up, U Don’t Have to Call, and Confessions Part II, captivating the audience with his body and voice in true Usher fashion. Stars like Jermaine Dupri, H.E.R., Will.i.am, Lil Jon, and Ludacris joined Usher on the stage, which soon transformed into mini Atlanta with dancers on roller skates, A-town stomp, thunderclaps, and the Rockaway.
5. The Olympics: Sha’Carri Richardson’s Performance
Sha’Carri Richardson, with her signature long and colorful nails and hair, created one of 2024’s historic moments. The Olympic medal winner was favored to win gold in the 100m race at the 2024 games but fell just short of it due to a slow start. Richardson came in at 10.89 seconds, which ensured Julien Alfred of Saint Lucia won her country’s first gold in 10.72 seconds.
Richardson’s main rival, Shericka Jackson of Jamaica, had withdrawn from the race to prepare for the 200m. Subsequently, all eyes were on the American athlete, who missed the Tokyo Olympics after testing positive for marijuana and hoped to win gold in Paris. Richardson said she smoked pot to cope with news of her mother’s death at the time.
6. Jonathan Majors’ Sentenced to Domestic Violence Treatment Program
On April 8, 2024, Jonathan Majors narrowly avoided arrest and got sentenced to a year-long domestic violence treatment program instead. The actor, whose career had been on the rise, was convicted of domestic assault against his ex-girlfriend, Grace Jabbari. Police arrested Majors on March 25, 2023, for beating Jabbari in a taxi cab. The dancer had grabbed his phone after seeing a text she thought was from another woman.
PerNBC News, The Creed III actor allegedly pulled Grace’s finger, twisted her arm, and struck her in the face to get his phone back. The trial began on Nov. 29, 2023, and Majors was found guilty of assault in the third degree and harassment in the second degree on December 18, 2023. He was sentenced to a one-year “in-person batterers” intervention program in Los Angeles.
7. Jonathan Majors Engaged to Meagan Good
Jonathan Major made the news again in November 2024 but for something positive this time. The actor and his fiancee, actress Megan Good, announced their engagement at the EBONY Power 100 Gala in Los Angeles. The couple met years before but only started dating two months after Majors’ legal troubles began. Majors has been vocal about Good’s support throughout his trial. The actress also disclosed that her fiance tried to dissuade her from being with him because of his situation, but she chose to stay.
8. Trump vs. Kamala Harris
Perhaps the biggest news story of 2024 was the 2024 US presidential election. The battle between the Republican and Democrat parties was more intense this year than any others because of broadly polarizing issues. Vice President Kamala Harris’ entry into the race was dramatic and would have made for good talking points. However, she inherited the disapproval that trailed Biden’s administration on inflation and immigration, which tanked her bid. President-elect Donald Trump won 312 electoral votes, while Harris won 226.
9. Bronny James Joins the Lakers with LeBron
LeBron and Bronny James made history as the first father-son duo to play an NBA game together. They teamed up with the Lakers against the Minnesota Timberwolves in a 110-103 victory round. The Lakers drafted Bronny as a second-round pick. It was a proud moment for father and son as they checked into the game together.
“I lost a lot of time because of this league so to be able to have this moment where I am working still and I can work alongside my son,” LeBron said. “It’s one of the greatest gifts I’ve ever got from the man above and I’m going to take full advantage of it.”
10. Wendy Williams’ Dementia and Documentary
Popular talk show host Wendy Williams’ diagnosis of dementia and aphasia in February 2024 shocked many people. For years, Williams entertained many with her TV show, The Wendy Williams Show, where she infused humor and often plain truth while conveying her message. However, a few days after her public diagnosis, a docuseries, Where Is Wendy Williams? detailing William’s life was released. The project noted that the TV personality was the executive producer.
However, her legal guardian, Sabrina Morrissey, decried it, calling the project exploitative of a vulnerable woman. She also filed a legal complaint at the New York State Supreme Court. The docuseries follows Williams’ life after her show ended and captures her alcohol addiction as well as her financial and health struggles. Morrissey has asked the court to terminate the contract Entertainment One Reality Productions claims it signed with Williams.

The series focused on interviews with former child stars and Nickelodeon staff who alleged years of racism, sexual abuse, and gender inequality. The shocking truth revealed by those involved reverberated online and on mainstream media and sparked conversations about the safety of children in such spaces.
Notably, Drake Bell of Drake and Josh fame recounted publicly for the first time how he was sexually molested by Brain Peck, a Nickelodeon dialogue coach and actor sentenced to 16 months in jail in 2004. There were cases to answer for Dan Schneider, the once revered and talented creator of popular shows like Sam and Cat, iCarly, Drake and Josh, Victorious and Zoey 101. Schneider was fired in 2018 after an investigation was launched into allegations of his verbal abuse, tantrums, and creating a toxic work environment.
12. No Beyoncé Nominations at the Country Music Awards
2024 was also a rude awakening for those in the country music scene and those looking to get in. Despite topping the country music charts, Beyonce’s best-selling album, CowboyCarter, was snubbed for the prestigious Country Music Association (CMA) Awards. Many had hoped Beyonce would be the first black woman to be nominated and win album of the year. A friend revealed that the snub shocked and infuriated the singer.
“Bey grew up on country music and has a great love for it,” the friend said. “Not being recognized for her country album that did so well feels like a slap in the face.”
Billy Ray Cyrus also questioned why the Single Ladies singer was not nominated. Many people also speculated that the singer was snubbed because she didn’t pay homage to the genre’s gatekeepers and because of her skin color, which likely made her seem like an intruder.
13. Rise in Popularity in Pop The Balloon series (Arlette)
With 2024 came a new dating concept that has gained popularity worldwide. Pop The Balloon, a real-life dating show that premiered in January 2024, has quickly influenced the dating landscape. He also revealed that he was the one in the video, and he accidentally turned on Instagram Live after throwing his phone on the bed.
“Obviously I am embarrassed. Someone that is extremely, extremely private and to have one of your most intimate details — the audio — heard for the entire world to hear, I’m embarrassed for a number of reasons,” Sharpe, who is known for being very private, said on the emergency episode of his podcast.
In September, Kendrick Lamar was announced as the headliner for the February 2025 Apple Music halftime show. However, the decision surprised many who thought Lil Wayne would get to do the honors instead, as the 2025 Superbowl will take place in Wayne’s hometown of New Orleans. The rapper also expressed disappointment about not being selected.
“I blame myself for not being mentally prepared for a letdown and for just automatically, mentally putting myself in that position,” he said on Instagram.
Meanwhile, Lamar reacted to the Lolipop rapper’s statement in his surprise sixth 12-track album GNX. The Pulitzer Prize winner rapped on his intro song wacced out murals,“Used to bump Tha Carter III, I held my Rollie chain proud / Irony, I think my hard work let Lil Wayne down/ Whatever though, call me crazy, everybody questionable / Turn me to an Esk—, I drew the line and decimals.” Lamar also aimed at everyone who didn’t congratulate him after he was announced.

Gary Owen has reacted to Kendrick Lamar‘s lyrics that call out white comedians for their disrespect towards Black women.
In the track
“Wacced Out Murals”
from his surprise album GNX, Kendrick Lamar raps,
“Don’t let no white comedian talk about no Black woman, that’s law.”
Gary Owen posted a screenshot of the lyrics and addressed the bar in his caption.
“If that’s the law that makes me a criminal.”
Although Gary Owen quickly defended himself, many fans in the comments pointed out that Kendrick Lamar was actually talking about Andrew Schulz. Schulz faced criticism in September for making jokes about Black women alongside British podcasters James Duncan and Fuhad Dawodu from ShxtsNGigs. Duncan and Dawodu later issued apologies.
Kendrick Lamar’s Super Bowl Halftime Show will go down in 2025 in New Orleans. Although the anticipated performance is still months away, some controversy has already begun brewing. The cause? The ongoing beef between Lamar and Drake. Recall that both rappers haven’t been on good terms for a while, going as far as releasing diss tracks about each other. Recently, rapper Wack 100 took things to new heights when he accused Drake of planning to sabotage Lamar’s upcoming Super Bowl performance.
The Drake, Kendrick Lamar, and Wack 100 Drama
On Sunday, Wack 100 made the headlines when he made a shocking claim about Drake. During a streaming session, the music manager alleged that Drake was using legal means to try to interrupt Kendrick Lamar’s upcoming Super Bowl Performance. The rapper boldly claimed per HipHopDX:
“He’s trying to get the NFL to restrict Kendrick.”
Wack 100 further claimed that Drake issued a cease and desist to Lamar over the diss track Not Like Us. According to Wack 100, the move was to prevent the 37-year-old from performing the track at the show. However, the rapper revealed Drake’s alleged plan would not hold up due to Jay-Z’s involvement with the NFL. He said:
“As long as Jay-Z got something to do with it, it ain’t.”
NFL Announces Kendrick Lamar as 2025 Super Bowl Halftime Show Headliner
Wack 100’s claims came over a few weeks after the NFL announced Lamar would headline the Super Bowl Halftime Show on February 9, 2025. While the big announcement left fans excited, it sparked a debate online. Many believed Lamar was firing more shots at Drake, all thanks to the announcement video. The clip showed Lamar standing before an American flag on a football pitch, firing off passes to an unseen receiver. Lamar said:
“Rap music is still the most impactful genre to date. And I’ll be there to remind the world why. They got the right one.”
Besides the Drake and Lamar drama, some fans argued that Lil Wayne should have headlined the show instead. According to them, it was only right given that the Super Bowl would happen in Lil Wayne’s hometown. Many rappers agreed, sharing their opinions about the NFL choosing Larmar. Drake was not left out! Taking to his Instagram stories on September 10, the 6 God showed support by sharing several throwback pictures of Lil Wayne. He posted a picture of Lil Wayne from his iconic “A Milli” video and photos of young Wayne holding a flip phone and gambling.
A few days later, Nicki Minaj joined in the online debate. In an explosive social media rant, the rapper criticized Jay-Z, who has helped organize the halftime show since 2020. Nicki Minaj codedly accused the Roc Nation boss of denying Lil Wayne a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity due to personal grievances. According to Nicki Minaj, Jay Z’s ego and dislike for her, Drake, and Birdman were the reasons for his actions. Meanwhile, Lil Wayne and Kendrick Lamar have not publicly shared their opinions on the controversy. In the meantime, fans are counting down the weeks to Lamar’s performance. There are still hopes that Lil Wayne could appear as a special guest.
