Texas Woman Allegedly Tried To Sell Newborn on Facebook to ‘Highest Bidder’ — Arrested After Demanding Cash Upfront Before Giving Birth

According to Law & Crime, 21-year-old Juniper Bryson was taken into custody in Texas last week on charges of felony sale or purchase of a child.

Authorities allege that Bryson attempted to sell her unborn son on Facebook, reportedly offering the child to the “highest bidder” and requesting at least $150 upfront before going into labor, Law & Crime reports.

This post, which drew attention from social media users, led to a tip that ultimately prompted law enforcement to take action.

“Juniper [Bryson] sent him a picture of the food she was trying to order, and he sent her money, a total of $25 via Apple Pay to complete the food delivery,” the affidavit states. “[The prospective parent] stated that 3.5 hours into their trip to Houston, she asked them to send her $150.”

Bryson’s relative said she asked people for money on Facebook.

“What do you mean compensate? Like pay you $ for the baby? You want $$ for your baby?!” the relative allegedly told Bryson. “That’s illegal, that’s human trafficking.”

“No it’s not, it’s surrogacy,” Bryson allegedly responded. “Just enough to move into an apartment so I can work a job and get [my daughter] back, or a cheap down payment, or any car to get to different places to DoorDash. Nothing crazy at all.”

Texas Penal Code Section 25.08 classifies the sale or purchase of a child as a felony, typically carrying penalties of up to 10 years in prison and fines of up to $10,000 for third-degree felonies.

However, the charge can be elevated if the transaction is linked to further exploitative intentions, such as trafficking. Law & Crime reports that the case has spotlighted the troubling use of social media for illegal child trafficking attempts.

  • Wife Accused Of Murder Says Her Husband Accidentally ‘Bumped Against Her’ While She Was Helping Him Inside The House, Causing Deadly Gunshot

Wife Accused Of Murder Says Her Husband Accidentally ‘Bumped Against Her’ While She Was Helping Him Inside The House, Causing Deadly Gunshot

A Texas woman is facing charges for her husband’s death, per Law & Crime. Marisol Solis Zamora, 42, reportedly said that the gun went off by accident when her husband, Miguel Zamora Martinez, 47, bumped into her while she was helping him inside their home after a night of drinking. She is charged with murder.

The shooting occurred on Saturday night around 11 p.m. in Houston. Their children, who were home at the time of the incident, heard two gunshots and saw her holding the firearm near the body, as stated in court documents.

When police arrived, they found him dead in the driveway. Initially, she claimed it was self-defense but later said it was an accident during her hearing, as reported by Damali Keith from local Fox station KRIV. At the hearing, Zamora’s court-appointed defense attorney stated that she was assisting her husband who was

“drunkenly trying to stumble from the car to the home, and that the gun accidentally discharged … as he bumped against her.”

“The possibility of this being an accident is also buttressed by one of the teenage kids who indicated that the weapon was sort of jammed, or there appeared to be some kind of malfunction with the weapon itself,”

the lawyer added. Marisol and her children told the police that there was no argument between her and her husband before the gun went off, her lawyer explained.

However, the Harris County Sheriff’s Office stated in a news release that her explanation of how her husband suffered his injuries

“did not align with the physical evidence at the scene.”

Zamora doesn’t have a criminal record and was on the path to start training to become a paralegal, her lawyer mentioned in court. Marisol Zamora is currently in Harris County Jail, and her bail is set at $100,000, according to online records.

  • Texas Man Faces Execution in Controversial ‘Shaken Baby Syndrome’ Case

Texas Man Faces Execution in Controversial ‘Shaken Baby Syndrome’ Case

A Texas man’s life hangs in the balance due to a shaken baby syndrome case recorded in 2002. This execution is scheduled for this month making it the first of its kind. Although many have been accused of shaken baby syndrome, they have been exonerated. Nearly forty people have been declared not guilty. However, in the case of Robert Roberson, they say he deserves the chair.

Controversy in Texas: Man Faces Execution Over ‘Shaken Baby’ Death

Per NBC News, Robert Roberson’s execution is scheduled for October 17. But the man had spoken up ahead of his condemnation date. The convict filed a clemency petition with the state of Texas, after which he spoke to a reporter. During his interview with NBC’s Lester Holt, he begged the governor for a pardon. Roberson addressed Governor Greg Abbott, explaining the support he has garnered. Then he concluded by adding that he was hopeful the right thing would be done.

Two decades ago, Roberson was convicted of murdering his daughter. He reported to a hospital where he sought emergency service in 2002. At the time, Roberson told the attendants that he awoke to a strange cry in his home in East Texas. Once he spotted that it was his daughter, Nikki, he comforted her and went back to bed. Hours later the Texas resident noticed that Nikki had stopped breathing and her lips were blue.

The doctors claimed that she showed signs of brain death and a few hours later, Nikki was declared dead. Despite the diagnosis, doctors in a Texas hospital believed that she died from shaken baby syndrome. Nikki experienced brain Swelling, bleeding, and retinal hemorrhaging. Still, they claimed it only happened due to Roberson’s violence. Right before concluding the autopsy, Roberson was arrested and tried for capital murder. Investigators claimed he showed no emotions after losing his daughter. This supported their belief of his guilt.

Just last month, Roberson’s case was retried. His lawyers claimed that Nikki was visited by about forty doctors during her lifetime. This could mean that she had a medical condition before her death. In their argument, not all evidence was entered during the trial. Yet Texas’ highest court refused to stop the execution.

  • Why Elon Musk Moved X To Texas: Key Reasons Behind The Strategic Shift

Why Elon Musk Moved X To Texas: Key Reasons Behind The Strategic Shift

A few weeks ago, Elon Musk revealed plans to move SpaceX and X to a new base in Texas. The billionaire’s establishments have been in California for some time. But he reconsidered his time there due to some reasons including a recent bill passed in the state. The CEO isn’t the first reputable company to make this move. Other firms including Chevron made strategic moves to relocate to Texas. Over the years, Texas has been home to many tech start-ups and other businesses. Sources confirmed that the city’s unique culture and rich blend of tech and art is responsible. Additionally, big and small-time firms find the environment welcoming for their businesses. Thus, many have moved from the San Francisco Bay Area and California.

Why Elon Musk Moved X To Texas

Like any smart business owner, Elon Musk shifted his base to protect his interests and investments. Back in July, the serial entrepreneur was displeased by a law accepted in California. Thus, he broke the news of moving his high-profile companies SpaceX and X. This move was due to the recent law passed in the State regarding the power school yield.

According to this law, a school is not allowed to mandate staff, parents, or guardians details of their ward’s gender. While the governor maintains that it is in the best interest of the kids, Elon Musk disagrees. Via a tweet, he highlighted his disappointment. It read:

“This is the final straw. Because of this law and the many others that preceded it, attacking both families and companies, SpaceX will now move its HQ from Hawthorne, California, to Starbase, Texas.”

This is not the first time the 53-year-old would be nesting in Texas. In 2021, he reportedly moved Tesla’s HQ to the state. Elon Musk who is also a resident of Texas pays no income tax. Another reason for this move may be geared toward consolidating SpaceX’s already large base of operations in Texas. For now, the company already has over 5,000 staff in California. But there is no telling whether they will cut down the staff or move them to the new city. Musk’s reason may also be political. The business owner is all for former POTUS, Donald Trump.

So far, the pair are heavily against the domineering nature of the LGBTQ movement. Their grouse is with the movement targeting young kids and giving them up to life-changing body modifications. Following Elon Musk’s decision to exit, California’s governor, Giving Newsom taunted him for bending the knee to Trump. He referenced an old post where the president claimed Musk would bend the knee if he asked. Allegedly, the rise of crime in San Francisco equally consolidated Musk’s decision on the move. According to him, getting to work became such a bother as he often overlooks his shoulder.

    Final Note

Relocation of these tech firms to a new environment might also be due to pressure from stockholders. Experts say that the demands from investors citing their interests may easily influence the relocation of an HQ.

Sex Trafficker Left Girl At Walmart For Not Earning Him Enough Money After Making Her Sleep With His Brother and 20 Other Men

A Texas man is accused of making an underage girl, who had escaped from a group home, have sex with 20 different people, including his brother, who is referred to as

    “Big Face Tulu,”

    per Law & Crime.

Tyrone Berry, 58, faces charges of human trafficking and sexual assault of a child. In June 2019, deputies were called to a Walmart in Houston about a missing girl, reports state. She later told detectives that she had run away from the group home and ended up at a $39.99/ night hotel called North Villa Inn, where she met Berry. He allegedly forced her to

    “work”

in exchange for food. The complaint states that Berry also worked at the hotel.

The girl told authorities that Berry would arrange

    “dates”

    with men and

    “tell her what to do.”

The girl said she had to have sex with men for money, but she never received any cash; instead, Berry gave her food. He took her to his home and his brother Otis Berry aka

    “Big Face Tulu’s”

recording studio, where she was allegedly forced to have sex with Otis and 20 other men, while also being given drugs.

    Suspects Arrested

Detectives gathered evidence, and Tyrone Berry admitted to talking with her. She identified him in a photo lineup. He was arrested in November 2019, but the case was dropped in March 2022 because prosecutors felt they couldn’t prove it beyond a reasonable doubt. Prosecutors filed the charges again last week, and police arrested him.

They also got an arrest warrant for 54-year-old Otis Berry in November 2019 for sexual assault of a child, forcing prostitution, and human trafficking. He was on the run for two months before he gave himself up to the authorities in January 2020, according to Houston NBC affiliate KPRC. In an interview, he said his brother was to blame for his troubles.

“I’m really anxious to get my name cleared, and my story heard,”

    he said.

Tyrone Berry remains in the Harris County Jail with a $50,000 bond. The Texas sex offender website shows that he was convicted of sexually assaulting a child in 1994 and 2006.

  • 12-Year-Old Girl Passes Away After Parents Attempt To Treat Serious Injuries With Smoothies, Police Say

12-Year-Old Girl Passes Away After Parents Attempt To Treat Serious Injuries With Smoothies, Police Say

A 12-year-old girl from Texas passed away on Monday after her mother and stepfather waited four days to get her medical attention for serious injuries, reports NBC News. Instead of taking her to a doctor, they tried to treat her with smoothies. Miranda Sipps, a cheerleader at Jourdanton Junior High School in Christine, Texas, was found in very bad condition when her mother called 911 on Monday evening, according to the Atascosa County Sheriff’s Office.

Emergency responders met them on the highway after they left their home and quickly took the unconscious girl to the hospital.

Unfortunately, Sipps was declared dead shortly after arriving in the emergency room.

An investigation by the sheriff’s office found that Sipps had serious and life-threatening injuries the Thursday before her death.

For four days, her mother and stepfather did not seek medical help, even though she was mostly unconscious. No other children were living in the home.

“She was not talking. She basically could flutter her eyes and move her hands a little bit over a four-day period,”

Sheriff David Soward said at a news conference,

“and they had her laying on a pallet in the house.”

Soward added that the couple tried

“to give her smoothies, but somebody who is unconscious is not able to swallow.”

The mother was identified as 36-year-old Denise Balbaneda, and the stepfather, Gerald Gonzales, 40. They were both arrested on Tuesday afternoon and charged with a first-degree felony for injury to a child by omission. Investigators think the couple didn’t seek medical care to keep the police away from their home. The cause of Sipps’ injuries is still being investigated.

Mother Fled From Deputies and Left 5 Children, Including 2 Infants, In An SUV That She Crashed Into A Ditch During The Chase, Police Say

Jennifer Delgado, a 32-year-old woman from Texas, is in trouble with the law after police discovered five children, including two babies, left alone in her car. The car was found in a small ditch following a police chase, reports Law & Crime.

The police chase occurred on August 11 at about 8:45 p.m. when deputies from McLennan County went to check out a report of a domestic disturbance on Martin Drive, as reported by Fox affiliate KWKT.

A couple was heard arguing loudly, sources say. Witnesses told the police one person involved in the fight crashed their car in front of a house and then drove away.

According to Texas CBS affiliate KWTX, deputies soon saw the car, which they believed was being driven by Delgado, speeding down Bob Johnson Road in China Spring.

An officer turned on the lights and sirens to pull her over, but she didn’t stop. Instead, she sped away down China Spring Road.

Police had to stop chasing her because they saw several kids in the car through the windows. Shortly after, a deputy found Delgado’s maroon Ford SUV in a small ditch off East Cougar Lane, but she was not inside the vehicle.

When deputies got closer to the SUV and looked inside, they found three children and two infants. Emergency medical responders checked on all the children. According to an affidavit obtained by the outlet,

“Three of the children stated their mommy was driving fast.”

The police got a call about Delgado after the accident, which helped them locate her. A witness reported seeing the 32-year-old woman in her backyard panicking and saying she needed to go back to her SUV. Delgado was arrested and taken to the McLennan County Jail. She faces charges of endangering a child, evading arrest or detention, and fleeing from a police officer.

  • 131 Scholarships Are Frozen Under Texas Bill 17 That Bans Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Programs

131 Scholarships Are Frozen Under Texas Bill 17 That Bans Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Programs

This ain’t Texas, but they are holding things up when it comes to Black students earning scholarships under DEI.

According to a Dallas Morning News report, some 131 scholarships that fall under diversity, equity and, inclusion at public universities in the state have been halted because of Texas’ Senate Bill 17 which bans DEI programs.

This move will impact students across the state, including 80 students at Texas A&M and 45 students at the University of Texas, according to reports.

The bill took effect on January 1, 2024, and bans diversity, equity and, inclusion offices and initiatives at public universities. It was supposedly only supposed to affect diversity training initiatives but as expected, it is having serious implications on Black students.

For instance, there were scholarships named for two Texas A&M students who were killed in a car crash. However, the scholarship named Biotechnology Diversity Scholarship and the other community-funded scholarship for Black female athletes, have both been halted by the school.

The scholarships had nothing to do with diversity but the name is what got it flagged.

“The scholarships do not have anything to do with that diversity program or the state law,” Sam Butts, father of one of the students who was killed, told the Morning News. “We’re disappointed because that scholarship was set up to help minorities.”

Woman Fires Gun At McDonald’s Staff After Not Receiving Hash Browns and Biscuits

A Texas woman became violent when she realized that her McDonald‘s order was missing hash browns and biscuits, reports The Independent. Samantha Anthony, a 32-year-old woman, has been charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, as stated in the court records.

According to the police, on December 30, 2023, Ms. Anthony allegedly fired multiple gunshots from her car window into the drive-thru window at around 5 am. Fortunately, no one was hurt during the incident. The employees quickly took cover behind walls and equipment as the woman opened fire, as described in the arrest warrant obtained by KSAT.

Ms Anthony attempted to flee the scene, police said.

“I heard the first shot, I kind of like had a late reaction,”

    one unnamed employee told KENS5.

“Whenever the other shot started ringing out, that’s when all of us in the front started ducking and sliding.”

The drive-thru employee said Ms. Anthony received her food without any issues initially. However, she later returned to the McDonald’s, yelling at the employees because she claimed her order was incorrect, including missing biscuits and hash browns.

The employee said they tried to explain to the woman that they gave her the food, the manager even checked the surveillance footage. However, she kept insisting that she didn’t receive her food. The employee said that Ms. Anthony

“was hopping from the first drive-thru window to the second window, banging, talking, yelling.”

The situation then escalated when Ms. Anthony allegedly started shooting at the drive-thru.
